Steve is an experienced bid writer who draws on practical knowledge gained from a career spanning engineering, engineering construction, manufacturing, operations management and professional services to quickly understand essential information and convert it into meaningful messaging for clients.
He combines natural curiosity and an enthusiastic engagement style to develop bid responses and documented attributes that engage the intended audience and bring about success.
Originally from Taranaki, Steve has more than 20 years of business and operations management experience at the senior management level and is an expert in developing business strategy, effective communication, and achieving commercial outcomes.
Steve’s bid writing experience covers public and private sector bids for building construction, civil engineering, roading construction, engineering services, manufacturing, government services, national recruitment services, and regional council services.
A highlight to date was leading the complete tender process to win a multi-million national contract off a well-embedded incumbent. Steve developed the pre-positioning strategy, which involved a nationwide road tour. He led the tender response team and used imaginative document presentations to secure an opportunity to present.
A well-developed and coordinated presentation resulted in the award and negotiation of a successful multi-year contract.
Steve was also involved in the final contract negotiations, which secured what was then, the largest single account for the company.
