Helping Invercargill City Council (ICC) to secure sustainable delivery and value for money outcomes with their incumbent Tier 1 contractor.

Height provided end-to-end commercial support to ICC spanning negotiation strategy and planning, scope and contract re-development, negotiation facilitation and commercial analysis, and final compilation of negotiation and contract outcomes.

Height facilitated the renegotiation process involving the incumbent contractor, Council, and external legal and probity advisors to ensure ICC's objectives were met.

Results

With Height's support, ICC successfully awarded their 3 Waters Operations and Maintenance Contract on a 5+5+5 year term with estimated value of approx. $111M. The negotiated offering secured value for money, continuity of service, delivery capability, sustainable resourcing, and improved data and system integration to ICC.

Key outcomes were:

• Significant OPEX and CAPEX delivery savings over the contract term.
• Broader indirect benefit value of up to $1M through improved social outcomes, community value, and further integration and efficiency opportunities over time.
