Stephen Dempsey

CONSULTING CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Stephen is Height’s part-time CFO; his job involves deepening the financial capability within the business, providing strategic financial oversight, and identifying opportunities to strengthen our systems and processes. 

As a senior commercial accountant, Stephen spent 15 years in the corporate sector in NZ and the UK, before turning his focus to consulting for new businesses with significant growth potential. 

From 2006 he was the CFO for Williams Land Limited, a New Zealand-based international property developer and private equity fund manager.

He now works for several high-potential businesses, including Height. 

Stephen enjoys the coaching aspect of his role, which means he is often found working alongside Height team members educating and troubleshooting. 

As well as working for Height, Stephen is currently CFO for executive recruitment agency Rothley Partners and consults for several other small and medium businesses.

Stephen has a BCom, Dip Grad from the University of Otago and is a Chartered Accountant of New Zealand and Australia. 

He is a keen swimmer and over the past five years he has competed in regular ocean swimming events. He provides pro bono accountancy services for Parnell Swimming Club where his children swim.
