Right now, we have some truly pressing societal and environmental issues facing us. Embedding social and sustainable outcomes into the procurement process is a very tangible and practical way for thousands of New Zealanders to play a role in creating a future that we all can live and thrive in.

Laura is an experienced social and environmental outcomes practitioner. She joins Height from the Ākina Foundation where she helped organisations such as social enterprises, corporates, regional and central government bodies to tell their impact story, measure what matters and use information to keep moving the needle on important social and environmental issues. 

Laura’s career background incorporates logistics, aeronautical procurement and aviation fuel management with the Royal New Zealand Air Force. She finished her career with an operational deployment to the Middle East where she was 2IC and logistics/ finance lead for 55 New Zealanders supporting P3 operations in the region.  Assimilating information quickly, problem-solving to achieve time-critical missions and people management were key to her success in the role.

Laura has a Bachelor of Commerce endorsed in Accounting, a Master of Engineering Management and relevant to the procurement world, a Level 4 Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. She also holds a Yoga Teacher Training-200 certification she utilises in community settings.
