The Height Bid Team is supporting businesses across New Zealand to win more contracts with Government and the private sector.
In the last month our team has collaborated with local entities to run our one day WinWrite course for more than 25 businesses in New Plymouth, Whangarei and Napier.
The current economic environment means effective business development is critical. Pitching for work is time consuming and tough if not done well.
That’s why our Bid Team created WinWrite – to give people the skills, tools and confidence to write outstanding tenders that increase their chances of winning contracts with Government and the private sector.
Height workshop facilitator and Senior Bid Writer, Steve Martin, says the course teaches much more than just learning how to write a winning tender.
“It helps people to really put themselves in the client’s shoes and gives them skills that are useful for effective business development. We give people practical tools to take away with them too,” he says.
Steve adds that most companies we deal with try to sell on their business features hoping their client will realise the value.
"Our process teaches companies to take a more evidence-based approach to deeply understand client requirements and respond with specific solutions, demonstrated client benefits and proof of performance."
"Attendees walk away from the workshop feeling empowered and confident in being able to increase their tendering and business development success," says Steve.
New Plymouth
We collaborated with the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce to deliver our WinWrite course for a wide range of businesses in New Plymouth. Attendees included engineering consultancies, building and electrical contractors, to manufacturing, graphics and even a well-being focused company.
One of the participating companies from Pepper Construction Ltd shared this feedback, which warmed our hearts.
“Donna absolutely loved the tendering course yesterday. It is fair to say she is fizzing today, and has already told us some of the things she is going to implement in our processes. She loved the fact how practical it was and the real-life examples and templates that she got to take away from it.”
Whangarei
In Whangarei we collaborated with Whāriki – a social franchise designed to support and uplift Māori business owners – to run WinWrite for 10 local businesses.
Summer Pocklington from Whāriki was thrilled with the result.
“Thank you so much for your outstanding facilitation and delivery. You communicated clearly, used accessible language, and made the content easy for our pakihi to understand. Your approach was spot-on, ensuring everyone could follow along without feeling overwhelmed. Humour throughout the lesson was also really appreciated by participants – tēnā koe,” she said.
In Napier we hosted WinWrite for a group of Māori businesses as part of a Capability Uplift Programme for Māori businesses that we have run on behalf of Te Puni Kokiri.
Attended by representatives from TW Group, Ngāti Parau Trust, and Prestige Limited the workshop took attendees through all the steps involved in a successful tendering process with a focus on the Government tenders.
