Height is excited to announce the launch of a First Nations Business Uplift program in Australia, in partnership with Colin Gordon and the team at First Nations Worthwhile Ventures.

The program draws on the success of Height’s Capability Uplift Program in New Zealand, which has helped Māori and Pasifika businesses secure more than $NZ40 million in contracts since 2021 – and deliver a 20:1 ROI to the New Zealand Government's investment in this critical area.

The new partnership will respond to the situation in Australia, where despite the goodwill of corporate and government to engage First Nations businesses in their procurement, many small to medium businesses still struggle to take advantage of the opportunities.

Height’s Australian Operations Lead, Greg Harrison, says he’s thrilled to respond to this challenge by getting this partnership with First Nations Worthwhile Ventures underway.

“We’re delighted to work together to leverage the strengths of both of our organisations to give First Nations businesses the best chance of obtaining contracts with corporate organisations and government agencies as they build their businesses,” says Greg.

First Nations Worthwhile Ventures is a non-for-profit organisation that partners with First Nations and Torres Strait Islander communities and individuals in their drive for economic development and sustainability.

CEO Colin Gordon says he’s optimistic about what can be achieved through the partnership with the team at Height.

“We believe in the power of joining forces and I’m confident that together we’ll help more First Nations businesses to move towards running thriving businesses and having economic independence,” says Colin.

The partnership also aims to provide corporates with better strategies on how their procurement processes can be improved to more successfully engage First Nations businesses.
