Tendering for projects is a big ask for most organisations: they're generally not experts at it, they have to do it on top of their day jobs, and it has to be done within strict deadlines. Helping them respond beautifully to tenders and win work is genuinely satisfying stuff.

Donald is a highly experienced Bid Director with more than 20 years of experience in bid management and technical bid writing for major engineering consultancies and construction companies, including joint ventures and alliances.  His sector experience spans transport, rail, roading and professional engineering services. 

Prior to joining Height Donald wrote winning bids of significant scale for contracts worth several billion, including large rail redevelopments and civils alliance programmes across New Zealand. 

Donald is a strategic thinker and problem solver with a can-do attitude backed-up by an entrepreneurial mindset.  As a trained journalist, who has worked as a PR consultant, copywriter and bid manager,  he has a flair for writing and a knack for presenting information in a clear and compelling way.

Donald is a people person and is great at forming strong relationships and working with clients to get excellent results. He is calm under pressure and has an innate ability to navigate complex projects to reach the desired goal.

Donald has a Bachelor of Arts degree (1st Class Hons), an Advanced Certificate in Journalism, and an APMP Bid and Proposal Management Foundation Certificate.

Donald is a dad to two teenagers and spends his leisure hours fencing, cycling, and baking bread.
